The Giving Heart-JBC
John B. Cary has registered with The Giving Heart to help decorate tables for the annual community feast held at the Richmond Center on Thanksgiving Day. Our students will create placemats in Art class this week to help decorate tables. If you are interested in assisting with set up on Wednesday, November 25th or serving dinner to the community on the 26th (Thanksgiving Day), please let Dr. Lee-Anderson know. Students working under the supervision of responsible adults can assist. Additional Volunteers Need The Giving Heart is especially looking for those who would like to have a presence in their Resource Area (including haircuts) and Entertainment, in addition to the volunteer needs listed below. If interested, please email Vicki Neilson @ vneilson@thegivingheart.org Dining Room Setup Captain: This position requires attendance on Wednesday from 1 pm to approximately 4 pm PLUS Thanksgiving from 9 am to 3 pm. Wednesday tasks: Oversee preparing the contributed place mats and centerpieces for the event, assist volunteers in draping tables and setting out table numbers as noted on our seating chart. Thursday tasks: Assist table hosts with selecting place mats and centerpieces, help wipe down and repack items at the end of the day. We welcome 1 or 2 people for this task. Volunteer Coat Check: This role is for 2 people to work with overseeing the coat check area for volunteers. Volunteers will need to be present from about 8:30 am to approximately 3:00 pm.
